OVERVIEW
In 2024, researchers at Stanford's Immigration Policy Lab published a counterintuitive finding showing rural depopulation, not immigration itself, was driving support for far-right parties in Europe. As a study with particularly direct relevance for policymakers, we wanted to get it into public conversation without flattening the nuance.
I collaborated with the research team to craft a compelling narrative around the findings and developed a multi-part campaign, including a policy brief, a Twitter thread breaking down the findings with custom infographics, an op-ed, and targeted press outreach. The campaign helped bring the research into public conversation, culminating in the lab's op-ed being published in The Conversation.
