BARTiki

OVERVIEW
BARTiki is a non-commercial pop-up art bar that serves tropical drinks inside a playful reproduction of the Bay Area’s BART system. Conceived as an experiential installation for local events, it features drinks named after BART stops, presented in a subway map–inspired menu. While the concept was clever, some guests found the original menu difficult to interpret.

I redesigned the menu to make the concept both playful and intuitive. Drawing inspiration from the Mexico City Metro’s use of unique icons for subway stops, I created symbols for each drink and ingredient, simplified the map to reduce clutter, and printed the final version in large format to echo BART station maps. The resulting design turned the menu into a functional centerpiece, helping guests instantly connect with the theme and enhancing their overall experience.
